Yacht - Waste of Time
I just saw Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains for the first time, and when it was on I heard this song and thought... where do I know this from? So I checked the iPod and realized it was Yacht, then I remembered when I played this version at the bar one night, someone came up and said "who's doing this song?" And that's how I learned that it was a cover of a song performed by Diane Lane and Laura Dern as post-punk band the Stains. And that's how the movie ended up on my Netflix. And that's the story of why I finally saw Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains.

A Certain Ratio - Waterline
Post-punk funk workout from the Factory that is dark and mostly instrumental. I love the end where it turns into an avant garde piece of noise, similar to early Stereolab. I believe this is produced by the legendary Martin Hannett, who was also responsible for producing ACR's Factory contemporaries, Joy Division.
