I hear they just got signed to a major. Let's hope that goes well. You know how it is when hot indie bands sign to majors...
Gossip - Are You That Somebody
This is their cover of the Aaliyah classic. It's not their typical punk-disco-blues, but it does what a good cover should. It shows a side of the band that you didn't know, and it brings something out in the original that you never imagined!
CSS - I Wanna Be Your J-Lo
Another cover, although I don't know the original (Sleater Kinney anyone?). CSS are also on tour. I saw them in Sydney in January and can't wait for their New York show. They also do a hot version of "Pretend We're Dead" by L7.

Standing in the way of control & yr mangled heart BLEW me away,
but the live version of "Are you that somebody" (I believe it was "Live in Liverpool") does even more to me. Pure classic gold.
